Fernando Torres will not be allowed to leave Liverpool at any price, according to the club's co-owner Tom Hicks. Chelsea are reported to be considering a £50 million offer for Torres after new manager Luiz Felipe Scolari put the Spain striker top of his shopping list. But American tycoon Hicks has made it clear there is no chance of Torres joining Chelsea or anyone else. "There is no price at which we would consider selling Fernando Torres," he said. "The Chelsea rumours in the media are total rubbish."
Torres scored 24 Premier League goals in his first season at Liverpool, whom he joined from Atletico Madrid. He is currently impressing for Spain at UEFA EURO 2008.
