Turkey beaten at their own game?

Turkey were beaten at their own game in Basel on Wednesday. Fatih Terim's side had struck decisive goals in the last five minutes of each of their previous three wins, and looked to have done so again at St. Jakob-Park when Semih Şentürk pulled them level at 2-2 with four minutes remaining.

This time, though, the opposition would have the last laugh, Philipp Lahm firing in a 90th-minute goal as Germany won a thrilling semi-final 3-2. Germany's late show may have turned the tables on Turkey and earned them a place in the final against either Russia or Spain, but Terim's side will be long remembered for the excitement they have brought to the tournament with their never-say-die attitude. Their remarkable run is over, but they will leave UEFA EURO 2008™ with their heads held high. What will you remember most from their campaign? France legend Marcel Desailly said he felt "the best team did not win" at St. Jakob-Park. Is he right? What difference would Turkey's suspended quartet have made, not to mention their injured players? And can Turkey build on their thrilling run to the semi-finals? Tell us what you think.
