Ivan Klasnić's second-half strike was sufficient to earn a much-changed Croatia lineup their third win from as many Group B matches.
The Werder Bremen forward showed his determination to pick himself up off the floor, having been knocked to the ground seconds earlier, and sweep Danijel Pranjić's cutback past Artur Boruc. Klasnić was a thorn in the Polish side for much of the 74 minutes he was on the Wörthersee Stadion pitch, registering four efforts on goal, three of which were on target, a performance which earned the 28-year-old the Carlsberg Man of the Match Award.
